Larnaca
Laranca is no longer simply the arrival or departure point for Cyprus holidaymakers. The resort has earned a name for itself as a tourist destination in its own right. Holidays in Larnaca combine beautiful beaches, a relaxed family atmosphere, and historic charm. Larnaca's fine sandy beaches stretch for eight miles and are accompanied by a pretty promenade lined with palm trees.
Larnaca's tourist infrastructure offers plenty of shops, with street stalls and international boutiques, and a wide selection of accommodation, including self-catering apartments, small family-run pensions, all-inclusive hotels, and luxury five-star resorts. There's no shortage of food and drink options either - an abundance of bars, cafes and restaurants line the promenade.
The best way to explore Larnaca is by simply moseying along the pretty streets and harbour-front. Points of interest include the 9th-century Byzantine Church of St Lazarus, the Larnaca Medieval Museum, and the District Archaeological Museum. In the winter months pink flamingos flock to the nearby Great Salt Lake. A wealth of water sports is also on offer, including scuba diving, snorkelling, jet skiing, windsurfing and parasailing. Children can enjoy camel rides and a fun park.
